OWNERS DESCRIPTION: Due North Outpost Adventures began in 2002 when Elson and Kim Strickland decided to purchase their outpost camps from Holinshead Lake Outfitters. The learning curve was steep that first year, but the excitement of a new venture powered them through the lessons along the way. Elson and Kim recognize the importance of “hands on” ownership and have continued to be involved with every facet of the outfitting business.
Elson Strickland, a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, was raised in the southern Ontario town of Huntsville. Kim Strickland was born and raised in that same small town of Huntsville. Elson returned to the northwest with Kim in 1993 to raise a family, which now includes their 4 daughters, Emma, Alexa, Kyla and Talia. Elson is exceptionally familiar with the tourism industry, having worked in the operations department (code for whatever needs to be done) of a five-star, full-service resort for many years. Successful small business owners of a contracting company for more than a decade, Elson and Kim's clients appreciated their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Both avid outdoorsmen, Elson and Kim enjoy fishing and hunting in an intimate family setting or with a group of friends. They often spend their free time with their daughters, exploring new areas of the wilderness by quad or by snowshoe. Elson is also an enthusiastic aviator, earning his private pilot's license while still a teenager through the Air Cadet League of Canada. He has explored many areas in the region giving him a deep respect for both the land and the animals. Of course, he also has his fair share of stories to tell about the ones that have gotten away... read more...>>

OWNERS DESCRIPTION: Welcome to North Superior Charters & Outfitters. We offer excellent fishing for Walleye, Perch, and Northern Pike on inland lakes and rivers. We also offer fishing on Nipigon Bay for Trophy Brook Trout, Chinook Salmon (King salmon), Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead) and Lake Trout.
We have excellent Moose and Black Bear hunting with one of the highest success rates in Northern Ontario. Black Bear hunting takes place in two of our large bear hunting management areas with regular visits at our feeding stations by big trophy Black Bears. Our location also has a high population of Moose. Our guests enjoy a high success rate as Moose hunting takes place in W.M.U. 13, 14 & 15B.
The remote inland lakes north of Lake Superior support not only big Walleye but also high populations. In many areas, Walleye populations are declining but in our area, the Walleye fishing keeps getting better and better. In a couple of our lakes, the Walleye have starved out other species to become the dominant fish.
Walleye average in the 2 to 4 pound range with bigger trophies being caught and released all summer long. You can fish these lakes on your own or guiding in available.
From the outpost lodge, it's just a short distance to the Black Bay Peninsula. Once there, there is a 10-minute walk inland where we have boats waiting. This is the only access point to the lake, which makes for great Walleye fishing because the lake is not fished often.
Our lakes have Northern Pike but in the last few years their numbers have been declining at the same rate at which the Walleyes have been increasing. You can still catch enough pike to bring some home or have pike for dinner. We want to make it clear that our Northern Pike fishing is an added bonus to our great Walleye fishing which will nicely accent your fishing trip but Northern Pike are not the dominant species here. read more...>>

OWNERS DESCRIPTION: Enjoy a taste of our Northern Wilderness at Colimar Lodge, located in the heart of wild and beautiful NIPIGON/OGOKI area of Ontario, Canada.
Four (4) secluded fly-in fishing lakes featuring tremendous walleye, northern pike & lake trout angling; drive-in fishing and hunting from modern housekeeping cottages at our base camp; day trips to the famous Lake Nipigon and Onaman Lake; and exciting and successful moose, bear & grouse hunts.
This wonderful place has been operated since 1954. If your mouth is watering for an unforgettable vacation in Ontario's Northland, write to us, or give us a call.
Relax and enjoy your vacation in one of our comfortable, fully equipped housekeeping cottages at our base camp while you fish our own Blackwater Lake or some of the other dozens of lakes in the Lakes of Legends Region.
Cottages are furnished with linens, towels, dishes, and gas barbeques. You need to bring your groceries, fishing gear, and personal gear.
Enjoy our sandy beach, kids' playground, paddleboat, canoes, horseshoe pits and sauna.
Cottages are also available during the grouse and moose hunting seasons. All cottages sleep four to five people, and several have pull out couches as well.
Freshwater fishing at it's finest! Yours will be the only party on each of these beautiful wilderness lakes. Your party of four can expect to catch between 600 to 1000 fish during your trip. We encourage catch and release or catch and consume angling, however, it is not mandatory. Please think about the conservation of these lakes; the new fishing regulations have been designed to preserve the quality of the fisheries. We have imposed our own limits on our lakes by requesting that only one trophy northern pike be kept per party (15 pounds and over). read more...>>
