OWNERS DESCRIPTION: Crystal clear waters, untouched forests, fresh air, and deafening silence. Waters teeming with Walleye, Northern Pike, Whitefish, and Perch. This is Wabatongushi Lake, stretching over 22 miles in the heart of the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve — the largest in the World. The area is home to some of nature's most elusive animals such as Black Bear, Moose, Lynx, Bald Eagles, Loons, and Timberwolves. This is a place where the animals roam as they once did, naturally.
Our area is truly an outdoor paradise, filled with endless adventure opportunities or just the perfect place to relax and take in the surrounding wilderness. Birding, mushroom hunting, berry picking, kayaking, canoeing, and star gazing are a few of the other activities available here.

The Watson family has owned and operated Pine Portage Lodge in Northern Ontario Canada since 1946. Mr. Richard (Dick)Watson Sr. started with a rustic three room cabin on 24 acres of land on the north shore of Kabinakagami (Kaby) Lake. When he returned from the World War II as a war hero, having flown 90 missions as a fighter pilot with the RCAF, Dick Sr. invested his military earnings in what was to be the beginning of his venture into the tourism business. Dick and his wife, Edna Watson, had their first paying guests in the fall of 1946.
After many years of up-grading and renovations at Pine Portage Lodge, we now offer a 6,000 square foot Main Lodge and 13 guests cabins of various sizes, providing accommodations for up to 100 guests on the American Plan and Housekeeping combined at our fly in resort. We pride ourselves on the quality of service and accommodations we provide, and operate with a staff of 25 full-time seasonal. OWNERS DESCRIPTION: We operate three float planes, a Cessna 180, Beaver & a Turbine Otter. We currently run 22 outpost camps on 21 remote lakes, where the fishing is abundant and the wildlife is fantastic. Call, e-mail, fax, or write and we will be happy to assist you in setting up a wilderness vacation at one of our clean and comfortable camps. All our camps are clean and tight with screened windows, 39" foam mattresses on bunks and outside deck with propane grill. The camps are equipped with axe, saw and wood stove for heat. The inside of the camp is furnished with propane lights, large fridge, 4 burner cook stove with oven, and a good assortment of dishes, pots and pans. 13 of the 22 camps are wired with a small generator.
Each two guests are provided with a 14' aluminum boat and an outboard motor. Boats are equipped with swivel seats, anchors and paddle, unlimited gas and a spare motor if required.
