Thunderhook Foatplane Base located 4 miles south of Armstrong Station, Ontario right off Highway 527. Stay at the Bunkhouse the night before your trip begins. We have coffee and fresh muffins in the morning and then you fly off to camp. It's a nice relaxing way to start your trip. Please book your room in advance. SHABUSKWIA LAKE our farthest north camp a beautiful 17 mile expanse of shining water. Well known for the amazing quantity of walleye and northern it produces. Screened in fish cleaning houses, radiophone, swivel boat seats mounted on all boats. Shab North new cabin for 8. Shower, water system, chest freezer and solar lights. OWNERS DESCRIPTION: Our housekeeping cabins accommodate four to eight people. They are situated near lake level in a stand of white birch just steps from the sand beach. Cabins are fully equipped with gas refrigerator, four burner range with oven, heating stoves, lights, linens, bath towels, and all necessary cooking and eating utensils. Cabins 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 have flush toilets, showers and electric lights. Electricity is on from 5:30a.m.-10:30pm. For night owls there are either solar or propane lights. The cabins are exceptionally comfortable and attractive--making your stay in the Wabakimi Wilderness all the better. Luxury Cottages No.'s 9 & 10 They are the finest Northwoods accommodations you could ask for. The lake side is glassed giving a beautiful view from any part of the living area as well as from the full deck across the front. They have a full bath with shower, private bedrooms and kitchen with all the cooking utensils you'll need for up to eight people. The new Fishcleaning House and Lounge. It's bigger, it's better--more room to clean fish, to relax and swap fish stories. Smoothrock Camp offers a complimentary half-day of guiding with a shore lunch for those who might enjoy it. Smoothrock Camp also will have kayaks for some quiet and contemplative paddling along the lakeshore. DEBBIE'S OFFICE has staples for sale such as cooking oil, fish coating, pop, potatoes, some canned goods and ICE. If you'd like something special just ask in advance and we'll get it for you.
